Following the start of deliveries of its refreshed 2021 Model 3, Tesla is now updating the Model Y with the same refreshed features.
Last month Tesla began rolling out the 2021 Model 3 refresh which included several new features. The new features, which are already found in the Model Y, included a heat pump, chrome delete, rear trunk powered liftgate, and several others.
In addition to the new features typically seen in Tesla Model Y vehicles, the 2021 Model 3 refresh also included auto-dimming side mirrors, silver scrolls on the steering wheel, and laminated window glass, features we have not yet seen in the Model Y until now.
It appears that Tesla has started to update the Model Y to match the Model 3 refresh. New Model Y owner, Chad Smavatku shared a few pictures after his recent delivery which confirmed Tesla is in fact beginning to update the Model Y:
Smavatkul confirmed that the new Model Y is in fact equipped with auto-dimming side mirrors, silver scrolls on the steering wheel, and laminated window glass. In addition, it came equipped with a USB port located in the glovebox including Tesla’s storage device. The new Model Y did not however have the new center console found in the Model 3 refresh.
All things considered, especially how closely related the vehicle programs are, it was only a matter of time before Tesla began to update the Model Y with the same features that have been praised in the Model 3 refresh.
