With the digital reveal of the 2022 Hummer EV approaching and the recent teaser of the trucks Crab Mode creating buzz, we are now getting a closer look at the new driver setting.Â
In the short video uploaded to the GMC Youtube channel titles “A Revolutionary Turn, we are able to get a better idea of what the 2022 Hummer EV Crab Mode is able to achieve. Fitting its crustacean title, Crab Mode locks the front and rear differentials and positions all-four wheels to the same angle, causing the vehicle to strafe in a diagonal motion. Furthermore, four-wheel steering for the all-electric truck and SUV were confirmed.
GMC dealers will sell the 2022 Hummer EV exclusively and it is expected to available in single, dual, and tri-motor configurations. The tri-motor will provide 1,000 horsepower and can achieve a 0-60 time in only three seconds.
The GMC Hummer EV will have even more unique features to look forward to. It will be available as a truck as well as an SUV and will include a front trunk, high definition camera systems, next-generation Super Cruise, and Adrenaline Mode, among other driving modes. It’s expected market arrival will put it in direct competition with vehicles like the Rivian R1T and R1S, Tesla Cybertruck, and Bollinger B1 and B2.
