Rivian R1T Spotted Several Times Testing Over the Weekend

With Rivian’s launch of the all-electric R1T pickup truck inching closer with each passing day, new reports of the R1T out testing have begun surfacing more frequently. Specifically, over the weekend, the all-electric pickup was spotted several times.

Above you can see an R1T in camo conducting range testing on the CA 15 Freeway, courtesy of YouTube channel Ghost Tesla. Following Ghost Tesla’s video of the R1T in the wild, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe took to Twitter to showcase a video of him driving the “camo” R1T on rocks, dirt, snow, ice, and mud during a Sunday family outing. Scaringe’s R1T was accompanied on the trail by an additional R1T sans any camo.

An additional sighting was reported where two camo covered R1Ts were spotted driving on I-280. The video was shared in the r/Rivian subreddit. Interestingly enough, one of the disguised pickups coincidentally ended up driving alongside a Tesla Model X, showing how similar the two vehicles are in size.

The first two models to arrive from Rivian will be the R1T Launch Edition in June of this year which, if the timeline is followed, will make it the first available electric pickup truck in the US. The R1T Launch Edition will be followed by the R1S Launch Edition in August. The R1T comes with a starting price of $75,000 and the R1S will cost $77,500.
