All-Electric Ford Mustang to Arrive in 2028

According to information from Autoline Daily, citing a report from AutoForecast Solutions, Ford will follow up the 2021 Mustang Mach-E with a 2028 model year all-electric Ford Mustang:

The next-gen Mustang is expected to drop combustion engines entirely. Production is expected to take place starting in Decmeber 2028 at the Flat Rock Assembly facility in Detroit, which houses the production of the current Mustang. The report makes no mention of the previously introduced S650 Mustang generation that’s expected to debut in 2022 or 2023, if that’s even a thing anymore.

With the heightened demand of electric vehicles and the imminent ban of ICE vehicles in many US states and countries, we have seen major mainstream automakers commit to electrification. Ford, like General Motors, Kia, Volkswagen, Mercedes, and many others, seems to be the next manufacturer on the list to commit to an electric future. The chances of Chevy and Dodge following in Ford’s footsteps are almost certain.
