Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed on Twitter that the company is about 2 weeks away from a wider release of its Full Self-Driving Beta.
Tesla began a limited early access release of its Full Self-Driving Beta last month. A small group of owners were giving access to the feature to test it and give feedback. With this limited release we saw several videos of both the pros and the cons.
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta enables autonomous turns on city streets and links to Tesla’s Navigate on Autopilot features. With constant monitoring by the vehicles driver, they will be able to experience a complete self-driving system.
The Full Self-Driving Beta is currently only being tested by Tesla’s early access owners. However, CEO Elon Musk has taken to social media over the last few weeks teasing a wider release in the near future. Now we are learning that wider release could happen before the years end.
When an excited owner asked the CEO when they would be able to test the feature out on the interesting roads of their hometown, Musk simply stated they may only have about 2 more weeks to wait:
The CEO did not go any further on how wide the update will be or if it will expand outside of the US, but he did add that Canada will receive new features before the end of the year.
