Following Tesla’s release of the “Model Y 19″ Gemini Wheel and Winter Tire Package,” we are now learning that Tesla is launching a second Model Y wheel and tire winter package.
Tesla has often been criticized by owners living in colder climates who have necessities when it comes to driving that the California-based company sometimes doesn’t meet. Winter tires from Tesla specifically haven’t been readily available for said owners. Now, owners in these climates have more options to choose from before winter even starts.
Last week, Tesla launched the “Model Y 19″ Gemini Wheel and Winter Tire Package” just before the start of winter: “ ‘Model Y 19’ Gemini Wheel and Winter Tire Package provides maximum safety and grip when driving in wet or dry conditions and on icy or snow-covered roads. The winter package guarantees a high level of traction, stability, and braking efficiency under 45° F, so you can enjoy wherever you drive with confidence and comfort.”
One week later, Tesla’s website shows another option, the “Model Y 20″ Induction Wheel and Winter Tire Package:”: “‘Model Y 20’ Induction Wheel and Winter Tire Package provides maximum safety and grip when driving in wet or dry conditions and on icy or snow-covered roads. The winter package guarantees a high level of traction, stability, and braking efficiency under 45° F, so you can enjoy wherever you drive with confidence and comfort.”
The package comes with PIRELLI WINTER SOTTOZERO™ tires with an American price tag of $3,500 in the US and $4,700 in Canada.
