As the hype of Tesla’s future Cybertruck Gigafactory, aka Tesla Terafactory, grows along with the anticipation of the actual Cybertruck, we get a glimpse of the massive work area that will be Giga Austin. Thanks to Tesla enthusiast and drone operator, Joe Tegtmeyer, we are able to see just how monumental Giga Austin will be. The factory will house the production of the Tesla Cybertruck and Tesla Semi in addition to the Model 3 and Model Y.
In the video flyover we are able to really put into perspective how massive the companies new factory will be. If you didn’t know better, you may as well be looking at a giant mound of dirt or a construction site for any generic condominiums. However, Tesla fans are extremely excited over the company’s progress of ground-leveling and gravel applications.
Tegtmeyer admits it isn’t possible to get precise measurements but believes that the leveled area could double in size, growing to 700 feet wide, possibly larger. The length could be over 5,000 feet.
The sheer size of Tesla Terafactory leaves some skeptics wondering if Tesla will be able to complete it as quickly as the company’s Gigafactory Shanghai. Tesla has only been working on the Austin site for about a month and has made exceptional progress.
With the current global pandemic along with typical delays, how long do you think until Giga Austin is up and running? Check out the full flyover in the video below:
