With Tesla’s Battery Day right around the corner and production of the company’s Cybertruck quickly approaching things are definitely about to be shaken up in the EV world. Tesla’s Cybertruck is expected to revolutionize the pickup truck as we know it. It is expected to compete with names such as the Ford F-150, Rivian R1T, Bollinger B2, Lordstown Endurance, and GM’s electric truck.
With all the anticipation surrounding Tesla’s Cybertruck it is clear that the general public can’t wait to get their hands on them. However, a Tesla employee that has been working with the company since 2014 took to Twitter saying Tesla employees will be the first to own a Tesla Cybertruck (via Clean Technica).
It isn’t unlike Tesla to offer their new vehicles to its employees first. For instance the Model 3 was available to employees first, allowing the company to gain perspective and feedback while reducing research and problem detection costs substantially.
The Cybertruck is expected to go into production in 2022 with Single Motor RWD production expected to begin in late 2022. It will come to market with a starting price of $39,900.
