The Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, a compact, inexpensive, SAIC–GM, mini electric car has already received over 50,000 orders in China.
The MINI EV comes at a price equivalent of about $4,000 in China and has already sold 15,000 units over a course of 20 days following its initial launch. In addition, according to Gasgoo, it has racked up over 50,000 orders. “The sales of the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV exceeded 15,000 units within only 20 days after it hit the market at the Chengdu Motor Show that kicked off on July 24, the first mini-sized EV model whose sales reach 10,000 milestone in such a short time. Actually, its first-week sales were up to 7,346. Besides, the EV’s cumulative orders have surpassed 50,000.”
It will come with a 13kWh battery pack allowing it to achieve an NEDC-rated range of only 106 miles. Its drivetrain produces 27 hp with a top speed of just 63 mph. As far as its MINI appearance, it clocks in at just 114.7 inches long, 63.8 inches tall, and 58.7 inches wide.
Following the brands seemingly apparent success with the Wuling Hongguang MINI, it plans to focus on developing a larger service and retail network.
