Lucid Motors Electric SUV Prototype Spotted in the Wild

Following the announcement from Peter Rawlinson, CEO of Lucid Motors, confirming plans of an electric SUV following its Air sedan, a prototype seems to have been spotted by a Twitter user who was in the right place at the right time.

The prototype was seen along side a Lucid Air on a public road in California. Twitter page Coast Redwoods posted the photos this past weekend.

In a recent interview with Green Car Reports Rawlinson stated “I can confirm that we’re doing an SUV off the Air platform,” adding “I’m going to put that into production in early ’23.” From what can be seen in the photos, the SUV and the Air sedan look similar in terms of length.

With SUVs typically less aerodynamic than that of a sedan it is interesting to see a steep windshield pillar on the prototype. A feature that makes it clear the company wants to make this new SUV just as aerodynamically efficient as its Air.
