Headlines are littered with the novelties presented by Elon Musk and his team at Tesla’s Battery Day event yesterday. In addition to some of the technologies presented, Musk revealed that the number of pre-orders for its highly anticipated all-electric Cybertruck pickup are “gigantic.”
Although an exact number wasn’t given, the CEO confirmed there are over half a million pre-orders, but could as high as 600,000.
The Cybertruck was seen at the event alongside Tesla’s Roadster, Semi, and ATV concept.
The Tesla Cybertruck is expected to go into production for the North American market in late 2021, with the tri-motor all-wheel-drive version going into production a year later, in late 2022.
There have been rumors of the idea of a smaller version of the Cybertruck for international markets, but nothing has been confirmed.
