The Megane Electric will become one of the first direct rivals of the Volkswagen ID.3. Today most C-segment electric cars have an SUV body, except for the veteran Nissan LEAF and Volkswagen ID.3. Considering that this is one of the most important categories in the European market, the rivalry between Megane Electric and ID.3 will be fierce.
Despite the dense camouflage that hides its lines, it can be seen that the Megane Electric will broadly maintain the design of the original prototype, including its large-diameter wheels (between 18 and 20 inches).
The model has a short and very horizontal hood. Simultaneously, the profile draws directly on the aesthetics of the successful Clio, with a rising sideline and very marked shoulders that contrast with the pronounced drop of the roof. At the rear, the leading role falls on a spoiler in charge of improving the body’s aerodynamic coefficient.
It should also be noted the wide wheelbase (2.70 meters) about its total length (4.21 meters), being relatively close to the Volkswagen ID.3 (4.26 meters long and 2.77 meters battle). Although the spy photos do not show the interior, it is confirmed that it will have a huge L-shaped LIVINGSCREEN display composed of two screens (one for digital instrumentation and the other for touch in a vertical format that will allow controlling the MyLink infotainment system, based on Google technology).
