In a new video uploaded to YouTube, we get a glimpse of the 2022 Chevy Bolt on the road with little camouflage. YouTube MooseOBX’s dashcam captured the all-electric hatchback as he drove past a General Motors commercial shoot. This is the first known public sighting of the redesigned front end.
Earlier this year GM unveiled the redesigned Bolts and Bolt EUV at GMs EVBattert day event. The brief glimpse seen in the dash cam video looks just very similar to the one GM presented. It appears the next-gen version of the electric hatchback will have a lower, wider, and more athletic stance.
At the moment, official details on the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV are few and far between, so unfortunately the video was taken down almost as quickly as it was uploaded. GM’s swift action leads us to believe this was the real deal. Although GM was able to have the video removed in a matter of minutes, luckily the internet isn’t very forgiving and proof of the 2022 Chevy Bolt and its newly designed front end was secured in the form of screenshots (via GMAuthority and Reddit):
The update to the Bolt doesn’t only involve the exterior, although we are glad to see the fake grill go. As GM revealed during its EV/Battery day event, the interior also received a refresh with a more luxurious feel thanks to higher-quality seats and dashboard. However we will not see GM’s Ultium batteries, SuperCruise, or AWD in the refreshed Bolt EV.
