Polestar 2 Underwhelms with Official EPA Range of 233 Miles

The 2021 Polestar 2 official EPA range rating has been released and is very underwhelming. Polestar announced a range of 233 miles using a 78 kWh battery, far less than anticipated.

Polestar had an original range goal of 275 miles according to its website. Additionally, the Polestar 2 had a European WLTP rating of 292 miles making the the official EPA result 20% lower than the WLTP. The Polestar 2 has a combined energy efficiency of 92 MPGe, giving it 30% more when compared to the Model 3 LR AWD.

The 2021 Polestar 2 will come equipped with dual motor all-wheel drive. Its system output consists of 408 hp and 660 Nm of torque, with one 150 kW and 330 Nm electric motor per axle. It will have 150 kW fast charging capabilities and, like mentioned about, a range of 233 miles. It arrives with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of about $59,900.
