Lordstown Motors released a new video its electric “skateboard” doing some winter testing in the form of an all-electric snow plow.
The Lordstown Endurance is slated to come equipped with four in-wheel hub motors allowing for all-wheel drive, perfect candidate for towing and plowing. According to the companies video description, we are witnessing true 4-wheel drive that can drive through any terrain as Lordstown continues “plowing forward toward the world’s first EV pickup.”
It looks like plowing isn’t the only test in Lordstown’s electric “skateboard” chassis’ future as the automaker posted a follow-up video shortly after the first video showcasing several winter driving test including jumping and off-roading. According to the video’s description: “Snow days are the best days to break out the skateboard in #VoltageValley. Our all-electric chassis provides world class handling in the toughest environments.”
Lordstown Motors confirmed last month it had reached 100,000 non-binding pre-orders for its Endurance electric pickup truck, and said in a press release that the pickup is “on track” to start production in September. The Lordstown Endurance is expected to have a towing capacity of 6000 pounds and come with a starting price of $52,500 before tax credits. Endurance production was initially slated to begin in January 2021 but had since been pushed and is expected to kick off in September.
