We have finally been able to get a glimpse of the production version of Volkswagen’s upcoming ID.6 as the very first images of the electric SUV have surfaced. The ID.6 will be the next electric vehicle from Volkswagen’s based on the MEB platform. It is expected to be based on the ID. ROOMZZ concept.
The German automaker the ID. ROOMZZ concept in 2019. The concept was for a full-size SUV, bigger than the ID.4. Volkswagen presented the ID. ROOMZZ with an 82-kWh battery for “a range of up to 450 km (WLTP) or 475 km (NEDC, China).” According to the automaker, the battery feeds two electric motors located on each axle with “a system output of 225 KW / 306 PS (electric 4MOTION).” Additionally, it supports 150 kW charging allowing an 80% charge in only 30 minutes.
Now we are finally seeing the production version of Volkswagen’s ID.6 with the first leaked pictures. The pictures were apparently leaked through a filing with the Chinese government (via /u/kortoday):
The difference in size compared to that of the ID.4 was the first thing we noticed. Unfortunately there is still no confirmed price or production specs for the ID.6, however, the automaker is expected to unveil that information in the near future.
