The very first transport of made-in-China (MIC) Tesla cars has reached Europe as of Yesterday. On Thanksgiving day 2020, the first China-made Tesla cars that left Shanghai only a month early, arrived in the European port of Zeebrugge, Belgium.
The Toscana ship arrived at the port on November 26th and began to unload several thousand MIC Model 3 units. Between 5,000 and 5,500 units were delivered which were reportedly Standard Range Plus with CATL’s LFP batteries
Interestingly enough, the Toscana ship wasn’t the only Tesla carrying vessel in the port. At the same time the MIC Model 3 units were being unloaded, the Grand Aurora ship was busy unloading Tesla cars from San Francisco in the very same port:
A day of first for the California-based EV giant with the very first transport from China arriving in Europe, as well as the first time having two transports occurring at once.
Thousands of new Tesla cars will soon find their way to their new homes in Europe. With these transports, Tesla should expect to see strong numbers in December. New registrations and sales over the course of the next month are sure to help the company end the year on a high note.
