In a new article written by GM CEO Mary Barra, she assures that the company is well in the works of adopting electrification in all aspects. “Our zero-emissions, all-electric future is underway right now, and we are moving faster than ever. In fact, we are moving zero to 60 in approximately three seconds fast.” With the recent reveal of the GMC Hummer EV, we can only assume Barra is speaking of the new electric pickup truck.
The article also comes on the heals of GM’s Factory Zero announcement. An electric vehicle-only factory that will house the production of the GMC Hummer EV pickup, among others. However, that isn’t all that is included in GM’s Factory Zero commitment. According to Barra, is isn’t just about zero emissions, but also zero crashes and zero congestion. During the trying times caused by hardships brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, GM never stopped moving forward regarding its plans for its future EVs.
