Following its collaboration with Apple to allow Apple Music to stream in its first all-electric Taycan, Porsche is now furthering that partnership to bring even more new features to the Porsche Taycan. According to the German automaker, these new feature include Apple Music’s time-synced lyrics feature on the passenger display and Apple Podcasts are available with the infotainment system.
It is not the first EV that will come equipped with Apple Music and Apple Podcasts, as we’ve seen them in several models with Apple CarPlay. However, no other vehicle offers time-synced lyrics feature for the passengers enjoyment. The Porsche Taycan will also differ from other models by streaming content directly through the cars data connection.
Managing Apple Music and Apple Podcasts will be done through the drivers Apple ID. However, connecting an iPhone to the infotainment system is not required.
Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music, Beats and International Content stated, “With Apple Podcasts, drivers can effortlessly catch up on the latest news, hear incredible stories, and enjoy the company of their favorite hosts. And with Apple Music, passengers can easily sing along to their favorite songs with Time-Synced Lyrics.”
New Taycan customers will be able to enjoy the new features starting today, while existing customers could see them as early as January. Drivers will have access to Apple’s full library of shows, allowing them to browse Apple’s catalog and choose from Top Charts or whatever happens to be trending at the moment.
