Following the reveal of the insane 517 mile range the Lucid Air is promising, the company shared a video via Twitter teasing the electric sedans “new benchmark” time in the quarter mile.
There’s no sign of the actual Lucid Air in the video, primarily just a track at the Sonoma Raceway and a timer. Similar to the range reveal, it gives us just enough to speculate while we wait for its official quarter mile time.
The timer goes as low as 10.48 seconds before cutting off, coming dangerously close to Tesla’s Model S time of 10.452. How low will it go? We won’t find out until the official quarter mile time release on September 2.
As mentioned above, the Lucid Air is expected to come to market with a 517-mile range using the larger 110 kWh battery pack. The base Lucid Air will be equipped with a 75 kWh battery with rear wheel drive, capable of producing 400 hp, 443 lbf⋅ft of torque and 240 miles of range. The new electric sedan will be reveal globally on September 9.
