On April 17, 2021 the Shanghai Auto Show will be held where Volkswagen is expected to introduction the two Chinese Volkswagen ID.6 versions, the ID.6 CROZZ by FAW-Volkswagen and ID.6 X by SAIC Volkswagen.
Recent reports from China web media researcher, Moneyball, suggest that the battery capacity of the ID.6 CROZZ, and most likely the ID.6 X, will be 84.8 kWh. The lithium-ion NCM cells used in the new EVs will be supplied by CATL.
Volkswagen is expecting a NEDC range rating of about 365 miles (588 km) for the 7-seater. However, its real world range of 250 miles (400 km) sounds a lot more plausible. There is no word on whether or not the German automaker will offer the option of a bigger battery, thus increasing the range of either version of the ID.6.
