Tesla’s Battery Day is right around the corner and the anticipation is through the roof for Tesla fans and EV enthusiasts alike. Elon Musk has added to the anticipation this morning after taking to Twitter with a short but sweet message.
Due to the restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Tesla’s Battery Day and Shareholders Meeting were delayed again after Battery Day was originally pushed for unknown reasons. It is expected to take place in just two weeks on September 22. The company plans to hold its Shareholders Meeting virtually while Battery Day, although mostly virtual, will have some limited in-person attendance.
The event is expected to highlight Tesla’s plans to secure battery cell supply in hopes of ramping up its EV production. The company is also expected to discuss the development of its own battery cell manufacturing process: Roadrunner.
Roadrunner was introduced earlier this year. It is expected to reduce cost and increase production volume using an in-house designed battery cell manufacturing system.
This morning, CEO Elon Musk promised that Battery Day will present “many exciting things”:
In true Tesla fan fashion, the speculation is stirring, and for some, Battery Day can’t come soon enough.
