Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will make an electric version of the G-Class jeep. The intentions were revealed on Twitter by the brand’s Digital Transformation boss, Sascha Pallenberg. The executive cited Daimler’s (CEO), Ola Kallenius, who confirmed the development of the electric G-Class.

The model will be part of the brand’s EQ line of electric and hybrid. Kallenius has already confirmed an $11 billion investment in expanding the EQ range. The CEO also stated that by the end of 2022, Mercedes-Benz should launch more than ten all-electric models.
For now, the only new electric G-Class in the world belongs to none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. The model was custom designed by the actor and reformulated by the Austrian company Kreisel Electric. The car, equipped with a 490 hp electric motor, is capable of driving the jeep from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds. The batteries can give more than 300 kilometers of autonomy.
