Quant 48Volt – One Exotic Electric Car

The manufacture from Liechtenstein named NanoFlowcell has teased its newest prototype, the Quant 48Volt. The reveal will take place at the Geneva motor show next month.

The company behind this exotic vehicle are stating some mind-blowing specs. The Quant will have 760hp coming from four 140kW electric motors, 0-60 in 2.4 seconds, more than 600 miles of range and a maximum speed of 186mph. All that power is made possible by the first variably-controllable mobile flow cell.

This technology works very different from what we are seen today with electric cars. The electricity comes from the combination of two liquids, one positive and one negative. The process is very similar to refill a gas-powered car. When these two liquids are combined an electric discharge happens. Those liquids are called bi-ION, which the company says they are non-toxic, non-flammable and environmentally friendly. Every gallon of bi-ION will cost not more than 50 cents.

It’s unclear now if this new tech would ever become main stream. All other manufacturers are choosing the Li-Ion solution to its cars. Only time will tell.
