The electric vehicle manufacturer Fisker Inc announced on February 24 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) to develop electric buses with the MIH.
Through a statement, Fisker said that the vehicle will be a pioneer in a new market segment and will offer revolutionary innovations in the industry with an open-source platform.
The Fisker and Foxconn teams will work together in various groups focused on the design, technology, engineering, and fabrication of the vehicle manufactured by Foxconn and sold under the MIH Alliance (the press release mentions at least 398 other partners at the event such as Microsoft, Bosch, NVIDIA and Arm).
The MIH Alliance´s CEO, Zheng Xiancong has nearly 40 years of experience in the automotive industry and it´s very excited about the new project:
“We will strive to figure out a high-standard, high-efficiency, and high-speed way of doing things, and lead the alliance and industry partners to move forward together to create a new generation of electric vehicle ecological chain!”
The company is looking for to “avoid duplication of investment, reduce development costs, shorten development time, and enable EV products to enter the market faster and to be more competitive.”
Probably the electric bus will be for sale on 2022, alongside the electric SUV from the brand.
