Tesla Battery Factory to Produce Up to 250 GWh

According to Elon Musk himself, the first 100% Tesla battery factory is currently under construction and will have a production capacity that will reach 250GWh.

The latest statements by Elon Musk are causing a cascade of news that includes the latest news from the electric car company, with the highest stock price in the entire automobile industry.

During Battery Day, Tesla introduced its own battery cell, the 4680, to the public, illustrating a plan to produce its battery cells independently for the first time.

The Californian company has designed a complete production system under the name Roadrunner, which is currently underway on a small scale to test its operational capacity.

Once the first phase is completed, Roadrunner will deploy it on a large scale in the mega-factories currently under construction: Gigafactory Texas, Berlin, and China.

The largest battery plant in the world

According to Elon Musk’s latest revelations, the first battery factory to go into production will be Berlin. This information puts the European factory at the forefront of the world in terms of capacity and technology

“I think it is possibly the largest battery cell plant in the world. I think it will be the biggest. It will generate more than 100 GWh per year, and perhaps, over time, it will exceed 200 to 250 GWh. I’m pretty sure it will be the largest battery cell plant in the world by then. “

According to Bloomberg, 250 GWh is just the current world capacity for lithium-ion battery cells’ production. Despite these statements made by Musk, Tesla has not yet made public the schedule for battery production at its first European factory.
