Toyota has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the official presentation of the Proace Verso Electric. An electric passenger medium-duty van that follows the commercial delivery version PROACE Electric which Toyota introduced earlier this year.
The Toyota Proace Verso Electricwill have three body lengths options including compact, medium and long. It will also be offered in several versions including Combi, Shuttle, Family and VIP and will be able to accommodate between 5 and 9 people.
Technically, the Proace Verso Electric offers the same two battery options as the commercial delivery version which are 50 kWh battery which allows a WLTP range of 230 km or 75 kWh battery for an WLTP range of 330 km. The 50 kWh battery can be recharged in around 30 minutes at a 100 kW charging station while the 75 kWh unit takes approximately 45 minutes. All versions will come equipped with a standard 7.4 kWh charger, which can be upgraded to an 11 kWh charger at a premium.
All versions will also come standard with heated seats, infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display, digital radio, smartphone integration, keyless entry, electric parking brake, and auto-folding mirrors. In addition, the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite of assistance gear will also come standard which includes features such as Lane Departure Alert, Pre-collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beam and full-range Cruise Control.
Orders for the Proace Verso Electric will begin before the end of the month with deliveries expected to begin in Europe in March 2021. No price point was given at this time.
