The EVO Electric is a low-cost SUV derived from the JAC S2 EV, from which it differs thanks to a new blinded grille and redesigned headlamps. The model is already on sale in Europe. It has complete standard equipment (electrically folding rearview mirrors, LED daytime running lights, a 360º camera, an infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, automatic climate control).
The EVO Electric has a 116 hp (85 kW) and 270 Nm torque motor, as well as a 40 kWh capacity battery. Its autonomy is about 186 miles (it is not clear whether NEDC or WLTP). The SUV can do 0 to 50 km/h in 4.5 seconds and 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds, with a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
The starting price in Italy for EVO Electric is 27,900 dollars. In Europe, with the launch promotion and state aid, it can go down to 19,000 euros. A rather attractive figure for a vehicle of its type.
The main rival of this Italian-Chinese model will be the MG ZS EV, of Anglo-Chinese origin. This SUV equips a 143 hp (105 kW) motor and 353 Nm of torque associated with a 44.5 kWh battery with liquid cooling, thanks to which it reaches 263 km WLTP of autonomy. It can be 80% charged in just 43 minutes thanks to a 50 kW DC socket (CCS Combo 2 format). At 7 kW in AC, it recovers 100% of its autonomy in 6 hours and 30 minutes. There isn´t a date for the launch in the US.
