SPOTTED: The First Prototype of the Jaguar XJ

Jaguar continues to prepare for the arrival of its second 100% electric model after I-Pace, the XJ, and it has just been spotted.

The new Jaguar XJ will premiere the MLA modular platform, which will be prepared to host thermal, hybrid, and electric powertrains. Thanks to this architecture, the British firm will have a flexible mechanical offer without development costs soaring. Initially, the XJ will be offered only in 100% electric versions, although it is expected that later plug-in hybrid variants will be incorporated.

The launch of the new Jaguar XJ is scheduled for this year; In fact, the British firm already launched a preview of the vehicle last year. In this teaser, we can see some details of the rear of the car, such as LED drivers attached to the width of the boot lid.
