Tesla’s New Air Suspension for Model 3

Tesla has been talking about an air suspension for Model 3 for a while, but all plans had been delayed since now. Model S and Model X already received a “Smart Air Suspension” option, and it will possibly be a standard feature for both soon: “We’ve also upgraded our air suspension system for Model S and Model X with fully-adaptive damping, giving it an ultra-cushioned feel when cruising on the highway or using Autopilot, and a responsive, exhilarating confidence during dynamic driving.”

The new feature is on Tesla’s website described like this: “Add the ability for your Tesla to adjust vehicle height for better handling, efficiency, and ride comfort. Using the touchscreen, you can raise or lower your vehicle when entering a steep driveway, navigating snow, or unloading passengers and belongings. Using GPS location detection, your Tesla will remember and reapply settings automatically.”

The Smart Air Suspension feature allows the owner to control the ride height of the car through the vehicle’s touchscreen. The functionality will also remember where height adjustments were made by GPS detection and apply them automatically on the next visit to that location.
