Nissan Invests in an Intelligent Factory

Nissan is investing $303 million in the first rollout of a production system geared toward electric vehicles. All of this is to create an intelligent factory that can work by itself.

Hideyuki Sakamoto, Nissan Motor Co. Executive Vice President, said this factory would use robotics and sensors to decrease the physical stress on workers, increasing the workforce.

Innovations come with a powertrain mountain system that allows 27 differents procedure configurations to be installed. The robots can be programmed to mimic the delicate human touches and angles, automating the system correctly, bringing consistency and maintaining the quality for significant periods.
