The two companies announced a partnership to work on fast charging for Harley Davidson’s motorcycles.
The owners of Lire Wire Electric Vehicle by HD will get an “equivalent of 500 kilowatt-hours of complimentary charging over two years at Electrify America stations nationwide.”
According to Giovanni Palazzo, president, and CEO of Electrify America:
“With an average of 70 miles between each of our charging stations, we are creating a network that is (…) powerful. So it makes sense that we would expand that offering to electric motorcycle owners. We are excited to work with an iconic brand like Harley-Davidson, as part of a shared commitment to advancing the electric transportation industry.”
Electrify America is looking for to have 3,500 chargers spread on 800 charging stations by the end of 2021.
“At Harley-Davidson, we are taking significant steps to lead in the electrification of motorcycling. We are supporting the development of global charging infrastructure.” Luke Mansfield, vice president of Harley-Davidson Motor Company, said.
The HD motorbikes will start being produced in the following months and will have an approximate cost of 30,000 dollars.
The motorcycle can be charged from 0-80% in 40 minutes or 0-100% in 60 minutes.
