The New BMW 530e Wireless charging Is Already Here

For now, only some lucky drivers are getting access to the new BMW 530e with the wireless pad. The technology was previewed by the automaker last year.

The way these wireless pad works are straightforward for the user. A pad is installed on the garage floor. Through the dashboard, you can follow some guidelines for the receiver on the car to be aligned with the pad. Just like some smartphone’s do.

When the vehicle is the right place, the charging part begins. As you should imagine, charging wireless is not as fast as the wired counterpart. It takes 3.5 hours to charge the 530e battery fully.

When the solution was first revealed, there was no lunch date. But now, with the program ([[] ] the lucky owners of this model of car that lives in California, will have a chance of participating and get their kit and BMW will pay for the installation, maintenance of the pad during this program.
