Ford is strategically focusing on SUVs, and SUVs have led Ford to recover a mythical model of its past: the Bronco. This denomination will return in style this year from two very different models, the Bronco and Bronco Sport. The vehicle will be a pure off-road with crossbar chassis, which will make it a fearsome rival for the Jeep Wrangler, while the Bronco Sport will be an SUV derived from the Kuga / Escape with monocoque chassis. Now both vehicles have been leaked.
Although the Bronco Sport will have a more rugged conception than most SUVs on the market, it will be a much less capable model than the Bronco, conceived as an old-school SUV. The only standard links between both vehicles will be the name and some retro aesthetic details.
The chassis of stringers and crossbars of the Bronco will derive from the employee in the popular pick-up F-150, a model that next year will receive a 100% electric version. Therefore, it is highly likely that the Bronco will also receive a battery variant, which is expected to win immediate success in areas such as California.
Available in bodies of three and five doors (both convertibles, following the example of the Wrangler). Ford recently confirmed that it plans to launch three electric SUVs/SUVs, the first being the Mustang Mach-E and the second being a model based on Volkswagen’s modular MEB platform. The third vehicle, still to be revealed, could be the electric version of the expected Bronco.
