The new electric FIAT 500 was going to be presented tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show. However, after the cancellation of the event, the Italian firm has decided that the revelation of its expected urban will be made online.
The new electric FIAT 500 maintains its iconic retro design, although conveniently modernized to keep up. On the sides, we can see that the door handles are embedded, while the rear opens new optical groups. Another notable novelty is the disappearance of the FIAT logo on the front: the vehicle now wears the “500” badge.
The most significant evolution is found in the interior, which now appears to be more qualitative thanks to the textile inserts in the dashboard and the more elaborate design seats and upholsteries. The cabin is chaired by a touch screen in a landscape format of generous size, which is complemented by what appears to be digital instrumentation. The closed center console and the armrest remind us that we are not faced with a primary segment A urban, but with a premium proposal. The technical characteristics of the new electric 500 are still unknown, although it is expected to maintain the City platform of the current thermal model.
The new model will be manufactured at the Italian factory in Mirafiori (Turin) and will have a range of more than 200 km under the WLTP approval cycle. Its price should initially be less than 32,000 euros and will be offered both in two versions and with the convertible body “500C”.
