LEAKED: Nissan Ariya’s Production Model Design

Recently the designer of the Ariya Concept prototype, Giovanny Arroba, stated that the concept car corresponded 90% to the production model. Now, the definitive model has been released due to the leak of a series of patents. Framed in the D segment, this SUV will have to face models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Tesla Model Y, and the Volkswagen ID.4.

At first glance, the standard Ariya is exceptionally similar to the prototype, changing simple details such as the headlights (now more conventional), the charging connector cover with a different shape, etc. Overall however, the original design remains mostly intact, including the bumpers and the blinded grille, which maintains the brand’s signature ‘V-Motion’ style.

Although Nissan was initially slated to unveil the Ariya before the end of the year, its release may be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some rumors suggest that the model could be manufactured at the French Douai plant, belonging to Renault, since to reduce costs Nissan will now focus on managing the Alliance’s Asian factories.
