42% Of New Cars Sold In Norway In 2019 Were Electric

142,381 new vehicles were sold in Norway last year. And according to the Norwegian Road Federation, electric cars accounted for 42% of total sales, which is more than 60,000 vehicles! In 2018, the market share of electric cars reached 31%, an increase of 11 percentage points in one year.

In 2019, Tesla sold 18,798 cars, which is a new record for the brand. Of these vehicles, 15,683 were Model 3s. The fact that so many electric cars are sold in Norway is mainly due to a large number of particularly generous subsidies and tax incentives.
