Tesla’s new Cybertruck will be revealed 10 days from now. With the Rivian’s quad-motor truck already announced, it has set higher expectations for the EV truck market.
Rivian created an unprecedented technical and well designed car, the R1T. This car comes with an individual motor to each wheel that can do 0 to 60 in three seconds, and control torque from front to back and left to right. This truck can be perfect for both off-road and on-road. It also improves the stability of the vehicle, so it feels “much smaller and much more agile than you would expect.”
At the end of 2011, Rivian began the transition to what you see today, developing a portfolio of products on a common platform. The company aligned the vehicles with the idea of active lifestyles.
Charles Sanderson, Rivian’s chief engineer, says “The goal from the very start was to create desire with a customer that exists, and no one is playing to today.”
In 10 days, it will be unveiled if the new Tesla’s Cybertruck powertrain architecture will have a single motor at each wheel too, and what the other specs are for this long-awaited car.
