Electric car batteries have evolved a lot, but they still have limitations (cost, range, life, and recycling). That is why Lamborghini is considering replacing them with supercapacitors.
Supercapacitors are devices that have the potential to store energy with some advantages over batteries. It can charge in seconds (rather than hours), withstand very high temperatures (which affect battery performance and life), complete infinite charge and discharge cycles, and degrade extremely slowly (over battery life).
Its only disadvantage is the storage capacity. But yield depends mostly on the manufactured materials used. Experts want to solve this problem by using graphene, one of the best-known conductors of electricity, and make it a real competitor to batteries.
