Porsche Will Produce More Taycans After the Success of the EV

The Porsche Taycan had over 30,000 reservations before its official launch in September. Now, with the success of the EV, the carmaker had to readjust its plans in order to make more units for new customers.

After the extremely positive feedback on the Porsche Taycan, the company is preparing the factories to develop more of the vehicle.

“Taycan’s original production capacity was 20,000 units. This continues to be the requirement for the first year of production. By increasing its workforce by the end of the second quarter of 2020, Porsche is providing itself with the necessary flexibility to be able to produce more units if necessary.”

Not only will more customers have access to the car, but more jobs will be created, and the chances of getting more units developed grows. With more vehicles on the streets, more people will look for improvements.

“With the Taycan, we are showing that e-mobility is by no means a job killer. Rather, we are underlining its future viability, especially in the sports car segment. In addition, more than 32,000 applications show how great the interest is in shaping the future of the sports car together with us.”

The main impeditive for the Taycan on the electric market is actually the price, starting at $150,000. Its main rival, Tesla, offers more models and attractive prices. The techs featured are also simply amazing.

On the other hand, with the demand to create more Porsches, we can see the commitment to switch to EVs. It also gives us the chance to see more competition on the streets. This only brings benefits to customers.
