Tesla Might be Working with LG Chem to Supply Batteries

A report on Reuters said that according to inside sources, Tesla is close to a deal with LG Chem to be the source of batteries in China.

Tesla’s Gigafactory 3 is currently located in Shanghai, China. The installation will be responsible for building the EVs for the company, along with battery cells.

So far, it’s been known that Tesla has been working with Panasonic Corp to provide what is essential to build the batteries.

Both companies did not confirm the statements made by Reuters, while the sources decided not to identify themselves.

The first vehicles built inside the Gigafactory 3 will probably be fed by Panasonic batteries. The Shanghai plant will build exclusively Model 3 and Model Y.
