Dominos Using E-Bikes to Deliver Pizza

After a series of tests in different states in the US, Dominos analyzed that the performance of deliveries is better with e-bikes.

After a study, the pilots of e-bikes said that the time of delivery is much faster with e-bikes. Consequently, this led to better feedback from the customers.

Dominos stated:

“The e-bikes, which have small integrated motors to assist with pedaling, can run for 25 to 40 miles (40-65 km) depending on the user, before needing a recharge. Domino’s custom e-bikes include front and rear insulated soft-sided cargo areas, which can hold Domino’s Heatwave bags, drinks, sides, and dipping cups. One e-bike can hold up to 12 large pizzas. The bikes are equipped with lights in the front and back, reflective materials for driver safety, and have a top assisted speed of 20 mph (32 km/h).”

The electric model used by the Pizza company is an adapted version of RadCity Step-Thru from Rad Power Bikes built with the changes needed to carry a pizza box.

Adopting the new electric bikes saves Dominos fuel from its previous gasoline-fueled cars, and can also help the drivers get to their destination in a “clean” powered way.
