According to Bloomberg, Tesla Model S is a fast car. It can hit 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and is even faster than a Lamborghini Huracan (beats it by half a second). The tuning shop Unplugged Performance in California can add some magic to this Tesla Model, making it a personal record-breaker.
The co-founder of the shop, Ben Schaffer, says that he is looking for the best auto enthusiasts who have already tuned Toyotas, Nissans, and Mazdas to deal with American cars. Although tunning a battery-powered vehicle could be a challenge because it is different from the usual, where you can´t change the power setting on the car´s motor with the upgrades or modifications.
The goal is to create a lighter and more aerodynamic car. A Tesla Model S owner, Kevin Lee, after not having his car tuned for months, said that “It’s not about increasing the performance of the electric motor—it’s more about amplifying the experience.” Another thing to take into consideration is Tesla software, where we find the weak point, as it needs to be updated to help with the tuning features and only a specialist can do it.
Schaffer expects that Elon Musk noticed the Unplugged Performance shop and welcomed them to Tesla just like Mercedes-Benz partnered with AMG.
