MG (Morris Garages) is achieving notable success in markets such as the European one thanks to the ZS EV. A 100% electric compact SUV with which the British brand belonging to the Chinese giant SAIC has managed to open a gap thanks to its proper relationship price/product. However, MG’s plans go much further.
For some time, it has been known that MG’s objective is to expand (India, Europe, Australia, etc.) hand in hand internationally with a robust electrical offensive, using both its developments and those of its group sisters (Roewe, Maxus, etc. ). Thus, it is confirmed that in the short term, the firm will launch under its logo the 5 EV and Marvel X models sold so far in China by Roewe.
However, if MG was known for anything in the past, it was for its sports models. The British firm was always an expert in creating vehicles focused on driving pleasure from the old MG A and MG B to the most modern MG F and MG TF. SAIC would be interested in recovering this facet of the brand from enhancing its image.
In 2017 MG presented the E-Motion Concept. An electric prototype that advanced the lines of an elegant coupe that the brand could launch in a few years. The final design of the E-Motion has now been leaked from the patent office, which probably does not retain this designation in its production version.
Although the side and rear lines of this model are quite similar to the concept car, ahead marks distances employing torn headlights that contrast with the round optics seen in the prototype. With lines undoubtedly identical to an Aston Martin, the model will lack a grill and will have very aerodynamically designed wheels.
The interior of the vehicle has also been leaked, highlighting the presence of a large centrally located touchscreen that will probably later be extended to other models of the company. We can also highlight the digital instrumentation and the extensive Head-up Display that crowns the dashboard.
