Nissan aims to expand its range of 100% electric cars in the short term. Thus, by 2022 the brand and its Infiniti premium division will have a total of six electric models in their offer.
It is known that the first to arrive will be a medium SUV based on the design of the Ariya Concept prototype, which will make use of the CMF-EV platform and the e-4ORCE intelligent all-wheel-drive system. Quite possibly, this vehicle opens the new NCM 811 AESC cells and a liquid cooling system. Thus solving some of the biggest problems of the current LEAF. Its autonomy should be around 480 km EPA in real conditions.
According to Nissan’s senior vice president of design, Alfonso Albaisa, the CMF-EV platform will provide enormous flexibility.
Beyond the Ariya, derived from the IMx Concept prototype, Albaisa confirmed that another of Nissan’s future electric models would start from the IMs Concept. A sports car with a slightly raised body to accommodate the batteries under the floor. This model could replace the Sylphy Z.E. and become a global rival for the successful Tesla Model 3, which continues to reap very high sales figures in the United States, China, and Europe.
