BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WEEK) — Tesla could soon be coming to Central Illinois.
According to the agenda for Wednesday’s City of Bloomington’s Board of Zoning Appeals, Tesla is looking to build a facility at 420 Olympia Drive, in the Towanda Barnes Business Park.
The permit would allow Tesla to sell cars and repair them at the location in the 1.33 acre facility.
A Rivian spokesperson tells the Pantagraph that their plan to open a retail facility in the Twin Cities would not be affected by Tesla’s plan.
If the plan is approved by the board, it would then go to the City Council for a vote.
