Lucid Motors become one to watch after securing financial support in oil-rich Saudi Arabia. With this, the automaker was able to unveil the production version of their first vehicle, the Lucid Air. They were also able to secure an investment into the first phase of its Arizona factory which will house the production of the Air.

Lucid unveiled the Air last year reveling the first versionto hit the market will be the fully-equipped and most expensive version, the “Dream Edition.” It will come to market with a starting price of $169,000 and an EPA estimated range of 503 miles using Lucid’s bigger 113 kWh battery pack. It also required a larger $7,500 refundable deposit to secure a reservation.

Now, the automaker has announced that the Dream Edition version of the Air has officially sold out saying: “That was fast. The limited run of Lucid Air Dream Edition is now fully booked. This exclusive design was created to celebrate the launch of Lucid Air. If you were hoping to reserve a Dream Edition, you can still get on the waitlist when you reserve a Grand Touring model.”

Lucid is aiming to begin deliveries of the Air Dream Edition by the second half of this year after originally planning to begin this quarter. Not surprising considering the hardships brought on by the ongoing global pandemic and the multiple delays that it caused industry-wide.
