Tesla’s truck is here, and it looks like nothing we’ve ever seen before. The Cybertruck’s diamond-like profile and stainless steel metal, is here to change the way we see trucks. It’s radically different from what will no doubt be one of its main competitors in the electric truck space, the Rivian R1T. But the differences don’t stop at the looks and there is a lot that separates the EV veterans at Tesla from the Rivian R1T.
#1 Price – Cybertruck will start at $39,900 and go up to $69,900, while Rivian R1T is going to start at around $69,000.
#2 Size – The Cybertruck is 230.9 inches long and sports a 149.9-inch wheelbase, with a 6.5-foot-long 57-inch-wide bed outback. The Rivian is 217.1 inches long overall and has a 135.8 in wheelbase with a 4.5 foot-long bed behind it.
#3 Towing – Tesla says the Cybertruck should be able to tow a maximum of 14,000 pounds with the top specs. Rivian estimates the R1T will have a max tow capacity of 11,000 pounds. Max payload capacities for the Rivian and Tesla are a claimed 1,760 pounds and 3,350 pounds, respectively.
#4 Range – Tesla-estimated range between 250 and 500 miles while Rivian estimates the top-of-the-line R1T with its 180 kW-hr battery on board will get up to 400 miles of range.
#5 Design – It all depends on your taste, but it is based on the design of “Spinner” cars in the movie “Blade Runner.”
#6 Extra Seat – Cybertruck has six sitting options, Rivian has five.
#7 Charging – Tesla promises a charging rate of 250+ kW on the Cybertruck. Besides, the Cybertruck will have access to more than 14,000 Tesla superchargers across the US.
#8 Acceleration – Accelarion goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
#9 Autopilot – Tesla has billions of miles of Autopilot Data.
#10 SpaceX’s Starship – The Cybertruck and SpaceX’s Starship are made of the same stainless steel alloy.
As you will notice, Tesla’s Cybertruck beats its rival in almost every detail. It is bigger across the length, width, and height. It also has higher ground clearance, better acceleration, range, towing capacity, and an extra seat. Also, check 10 Reason Why Rivian R1T is Better Than the Cybertruck.
