VIDEO: Does the Ford Mustang Mach-e Live Up to Its Hype?

First drive reviews for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-e are quickly rolling in, but will the crossover SUV live up to its hype? Automotive YouTuber, Doug Demuro got behind the wheel of the all-electric SUV crossover to review “all the quirks and features.”

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-e received its official EPA-rated range numbers for all four versions just yesterday. The Mach-e RWD Extended tops the list with a combined range of 300 miles. The base RWD Mach-E comes with a 68kWh battery and EPA estimated range of 230 miles on a charge.

As promised, DeMuro first gets into the quirks and features of the new crossover starting with the key fob which Ford doesn’t expect many owners to use. The reason behind this is because the company is also offering an app that you can sync up with the car which allows you to do pretty much anything. DeMuro then goes on to discuss its lack of door handles, keypad entry, and all the capabilities of the app itself.

DeMuro then gets behind the wheel of the Mach-e and touches on how the EV customizes its range length depending on the weather, terrain, and even how aggressively the driver drives. The Youtuber then does a deep dive into the features found in the interior of the crossover.

As for the actual test drive, DeMuro first points of that the center of gravity in the Mach-e crossover SUV is actually only 1.2 inches higher than the regular Mustang. In theory, this means the Mach-e should handle similarly to the original which DeMuro says is “kinda true.”

DeMuro continues his test drive and is seemingly impressed by the crossover and praises multiple features including its handling which he claims is better than what he has experienced in a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y.
