Volkswagen officially started deliveries of its much anticipated first MEB-based model, the ID.3. The first limited edition 1ST was handed off at the Transparent Factory in Dresden in Germany, to a customer Oliver Nicolai by Volkswagen’s Sales Director Jürgen Stackmann.
The most recent shipment of the ID.3 were to Berlin following its arrival in the UK, Norway and Sweden.
Once deliveries of the first units of the ID.3 are complete, Volkswagen is expected to unveil the ID.4, the company’s second MEB-based model. The ID.4 is currently in production and is expected to be available for purchase later this year.
After years of development, Volkswagen’s ID.3 has finally entered the market. But will it be a top competitor in the electric compact hatchback segment? Once the September registrations of the ID.3 in Europe are released, we should get a better idea.
